Terms of Service

1. Acceptance

By accessing or using csvjson.tools (the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the Service. These Terms apply to all visitors and users.

2. Description of Service

csvjson.tools provides free, browser-based tools for converting and manipulating data formats (JSON, CSV, Excel, YAML, XML, and others). Most processing happens locally in your browser. Some advanced features may use a secure server-side API.

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time without notice.

3. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the Service to:

  • Violate any applicable law or regulation
  • Upload, transmit, or process data you do not have the legal right to use
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer, disrupt, or gain unauthorized access to any part of the Service or its infrastructure
  • Scrape, crawl, or systematically extract data from the Service in a way that places unreasonable load on our servers
  • Use the Service to infringe on the intellectual property or privacy rights of others

We reserve the right to terminate or restrict access for users who violate these terms.

4. Your Data

You retain full ownership of any data, files, or content you process using the Service. We do not claim any rights to your content.

Because most tools operate entirely client-side, your data never leaves your device. For any server-side processing, data is used only to perform the requested conversion and is not stored, logged, or shared. See our Privacy Policy for full details.

You are solely responsible for ensuring you have the right to process any data you input into the Service, including compliance with applicable data protection laws.

5. Intellectual Property

The Service, including its design, code, brand, and written content, is owned by csvjson.tools and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not copy, reproduce, or redistribute any part of the Service without explicit written permission.

Output produced by the tools (e.g. a converted CSV file) belongs to you.

6. Third-Party Services

The Service uses third-party services including Google Analytics (usage analytics) and Stripe (payment processing). Your use of those services is governed by their respective terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the practices of third-party services.

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that:

  • The Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure
  • Results from the tools will be accurate or suitable for your intended use
  • Defects will be corrected

Always validate converted output before using it in production systems or critical workflows.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, csvjson.tools and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the Service — including but not limited to data loss, loss of profits, or business interruption — even if advised of the possibility of such damages.

Our total liability to you for any claim arising from these Terms or the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim (or $10 if you have made no payments).

9. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold csvjson.tools harmless from any claim, damage, or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any third-party rights.

10. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of the United States, and you consent to personal jurisdiction in those courts.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms at any time. Material changes will be reflected in the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. If you disagree with an update, your remedy is to stop using the Service.
